1. Prepare the Patient & Surgical Area

Top and Bottom Sheets: Top and bottom sheets are positioned on either side of the operative area, with adhesive strips to hold them in place. 

Side Drapes: Side sheets are positioned on the sides of the patient and extended down for full coverage, providing absorbent troughs and a secured incise film. 

Adhesive Strips and Troughs: Adhesive strips are used to secure the drapes to the patient, and troughs on the sides of the drapes help to collect fluids and manage tubes. 

3. Secure the Drapes and Instruments

Adhesion: The adhesive film and strips on the drapes are pressed firmly against the skin to ensure a secure and sterile barrier. 

Instrument Management: Integrated troughs or pouches on the drapes can be used for organizing and managing instruments and tubes. 

Cord Holders: Velcro cord holding tabs on the top and bottom drapes can be used to secure and organize various tubing and wires during the surgery. 

4. Verify and Complete the Draping

Check for Secure Adhesion: The surgical team ensures the incise drape is completely adhered to the skin to prevent any gaps where bacteria could enter. 

Adjust as Needed: Drapes are unfolded or adjusted as needed to achieve full patient coverage and maintain the sterile field. 

Integrate Components: The final setup includes appropriate integrated tube holders and pouches for safe and efficient instrument handling.
